Do custom tattoos require a consultation

ALWAYS get a consultation! This way u get to see exactly what you're getting. You can see the design, & ask him/her to make changes if needed. You should go in 2 weeks prior to when u want it done to meet with the artists & get a feel for which one u want. Then when u pick ur artist, give them ur sketch for reference. They will probably tell u to come back in a week to see their sketch. This gives another week to make changes, if u want.

its a good idea to talk about it first,he/she has to make a stencil of it,so just bring in what you want,get info,price and always look around..there could be a better studio out there.but if you're set with them,than just set up when it is more convenient to you,that is totally your decision,

first of all, youre probably going to want to figure out which artist at the shop u want to do ur tat. Make sure their style matches the style of the piece youre having done, & that u have the chance to check out photos of their work.

Since it is a custom piece, I would contact them now to set up ur first consult. Remember, the artist needs time to draw the piece & u need at least one consult after that to make any additional changes. Plus, if the artist is very popular, they might be booked out weeks in advance. I had my first tat done 2 weeks ago (5x8 full color phoenix on my shoulder-90 minutes); the artist needed minimal guidance because he instantly got my ideas, & it was still a month & a half beginning to end. i made an appt. they didnt do anything that day

but the day i came in---- i gavee them the paper i had it drawn on and he went in the back and drew it. i waited like 30 min.but he was pretty quick

but in any case, tell them you have a custom tattoo that you want (they will ask you anyway) and they will do they normally do with it.
