Christians, and anyone else who cares to make a comment - l realize Leviticus 19:28 prohibits cutting & marking the flesh, BUT - that was in the OLD Testament. Were not the ''old laws'' done away with when Jesus came & sacrificed Himself for our sins?In my defense of body art, l reference Hebrews 8:13; Colossians 2:14; Ephesians 2:14-16; Il Corinthians 3:7-18 - the old laws were guidelines for the Jews, correct? Opinions, pleas?

Good question.

Makes me laugh though.

Christians are quick to quote Scripture from the Old Testament when it suits their agenda. But, if a law is quoted that they do not agree with, then you hear that Jesus done away with the law, or the law was only for the Jews. This is exactly why Christians are labelled hypocrites.

You either follow ALL of the laws or do not follow them at all.

Make up your minds.

I do not think God cares as long as you do not put on something that dishonors him. Too many people think God punishes us for every little thing. I do not think that way. I think he is merciful, loving and forgiving.

Since the tatoos r for pagan worship & u r getting a tatoo for ur body then I see nothing wrong with it, the problem I see is a tummy peirsing as it promotes immodesty, girls want to show it off, some people gte tatoos in foreing languages & they assume they know what the word is, or like angolina jolie she got some kind of tibet spell tatooed to her, this would make God unhappy as he is our armor in ephecians 6, what why would u need atibet spell for form another religion?

It is a sin because your body belongs to God

The Mosaic laws were given to the Jews only. They can not be applied to anyone today.
Tattoos are ugly and disfiguring, but they will not buy one a ticket to hell.

You are right, Jesus died for us because it is impossible to live and not break one of the 600 something laws in the OT. Jesus' blood was shed to forgive our sins, so if you are baptized and believe in Jesus as your savior then a tattoo will not send you to hell. It may still be sin though, not sure.

I think if you get a tattoo done just to say, ''look, I have a tattoo. Do not I rock? Are not I so awesome?'' That is a bit selfish and ridiculous.however, if you get a tattoo done to glorify God, one that speaks his message or an image that means something significant to you, then it is all good.

i think its ok to have them- as long as they dont defile your body with damaging images that ruin your reputation.
