Is really tattooing an art

I am a tattoo artist - but I dont think art is the proper word - because their is no art behind it - tracing that is it.

The best artist make the worse tattoo artist.

I think tattoo artist is the only formal name some idiot could come up with.

Is really tattooing an art

Yes, it is.

Is really tattooing an art

yes it is art in a way that is hard to explain.

Is really tattooing an art

Tattoo has always played an important role in the social life of those who practiced it, and throughout history it has appeared in many guises: as a distinguishing mark of royalty; a symbol of religious devotion; symbol of arts, a decoration for bravery in battle; a sexual lure; a pledge of love; a symbol of group identification; a sign of individuality; a punishment; and a means of marking and identifying slaves, outcasts and convicts.

Is really tattooing an art

Yes. Most tattoo artists can draw on paper as well as skin. They need to have artistic skill to be able to shade and mix colors.
If they mess up a line they can not erase it if the use the wrong color they cannot start over.

Look at work by an amateur tattoo artist next to work by Cat VonD (LA Ink) she is a very talented artist - others, not so much.

Is really tattooing an art

it is most definately art. some of it is the greatest expression of art I've ever seen, and some of it, it just kind of, well, lets just say to each there own and leave it at that.

Is really tattooing an art

I think it is. i mean the technique and skill that you have to have to be able to tattoo a person is not a skill that everyone can master and then some people are really good at different types of tattoos, like kat von d is amazing and she does really really good portraits. So just like any artist that does artwork tattoo falls under an art, the only different thing that differes between an artist and tattooist is the fact that the canvas in tattooing is skin..

Is really tattooing an art

I do not consider it an art, more of body modification like coloring hair/hair styles, piercings, make-up, even plastic surgery. In different circumstances it is a means to be intitiated into a group, tribe, gang, or family.

I feel in most cases, especially in the United States, it is more of a physical beauty enhancement, a display of personal interest, or a show of strength. I agree a detailed tattoo is a great show of skill, & I do not intend to be disrespectful, but I also think some mass produced t-shirt logos r quite beautiful yet I'd never want one etched into my skin to wear every day for the rest of my life, & very few consider them Art.

Of course Art has no real definition, so tattooing to be Art (or not Art) is only opinion, & to each his own.

Is really tattooing an art

Sometimes yes, sometimes no. I think some of the most intereting tattoo work has both an aesthetic-appreciation aspect (art) and a function-meaning aspect. It is art, and yet due to the fact that it is MEDIUM is the body, it has some other dimension or meaning than that same image would on a flat piece of canvas.

Is really tattooing an art

I would say it is both an art, & a craft. Art is more usually seen as something original & inspired, something that provokes emotions & thoughts in the person that views it. Some tattooists definitely fall into this category, but there r fewer of them than there r craftsmen. A normal tattoo is one that is chosen from stock artwork that the tattoo parlor has available, or maybe the person wanting the tattoo comes in with a piece of art for the tattooist to copy. In these cases, it is more like a craft, by which I mean, the tattooist has to be very skilled at recreating the design & executing the tattoo in the proper way. I give absolute props to the tattoo craftsman, I am not saying it is ''lesser'' than that of a tattoo artist. I would say that often, tattoo artists have to just copy designs.but once in a while they get the opportunity to become a real artist in their work. Hope this helped you!

Is really tattooing an art

If you are asking are the people who do the tattoos artists..hell yes! You try to draw something perfectly when you can not erase it!

Is really tattooing an art

Yes it is. Most of the tattooists are great artists and have spent many years perfecting their work.

Is really tattooing an art

Of course it is art. What else would it be?

Is really tattooing an art

The people who do the tattoos r for the most artist, they draw the designs them selves most of the time & u have to admit that is an art.
The Tattoo its self is art no matter if u like it or whos wearing it or not, u try seating down & drawing something from nothing.
The people who get them r just showing their love for art in a different way then u may be & just because it is different & u dont like it doesnt mean its not art.
Hope that is what ur ? was looking for.

Is really tattooing an art

oh yeah its just drawing on the skin, but drawing is an amazing art so if it is then tatooing is just the same just using different materials

Is really tattooing an art

Art can mean sooo many things. I think that graffiti is art, though it may be vandalism. Of course tattooing is an art. you have to be creative and have artistic talents to be a tattoo artist.

Is really tattooing an art

yes, word has it that it is an art.

Is really tattooing an art

yes, its very much an art. tattoo artist have to be really really good artist because its not like someone who does pencil drawing or painting etc, to where if they mess up, they can either erase it or blend colors around the mess up to fix it. u mess up on a tattoo you're generally f*cked. i know the outline of the tat is there, but they have to be able to do the shading & details of it, so yes tattooing a deff. an art

april-if it disgusts u so much..why r u on here???

Is really tattooing an art

I think Yes! Skin Art

Is really tattooing an art

i think it is. tattoos are a form of expression.

Is really tattooing an art

Of course not. Those who get them are literally screaming ''Look at me, goddamnit... I have nothing going for me but shock value. The only way I can get any attention is to gross you out with disfigurement of my bod.? That is art???
