How do I do my own tattoos

Please DON'T do your own tattoo.it is an insult to all of the highly skilled tat artists out there who do what they do because they love it.not because they are bored and have nothing else to do. If you want to experiment, try henna or temporary tattoos. There are also special inks that are meant to be used to draw on the skin so you can create your own art without piercing your skin.you can get them at most craft or scrapbooking stores.

I'd say start with henna since it is not permanent. When you get that right, then go for real needles. and for even more practice i heard you can get a similar feel (to skin) when using certain fruits (No joke!). so try that-you do not want a botched up tat on your body for good..

You shouldn't. You have to consider that there is a great risk of infection, which could potentially get bad. If you'd really like a tattoo, get it done by someone who knows what they're doing.

there is a reason tatoo artists dont work on themselves. Its dangerous and it wont look real good either.

Take ashes and ink from a ballpoint pin and mix them together. Then, sterilize a needle and dip it in the mixture and quickly pierce your skin, remembering to re-ink. It may help to draw a design on your skin before getting started. I've never done this, but I've seen the results. On second thought, just skip the doctor is office bill and go straight to a licensed professional.

How To Make Henna Tattoos

1. Sift out enough henna to make about 1-1/4 cups dry, sifted henna powder.
2. Take 2 packets of instant coffee singles (the ones that look like tea bags) & boil them in about 1 1/2 cups of water until it boils down to about 3/4 of a cup of dark liquid.
3. Mix just enough coffee into the powder to create a thick paste. The hot liquid will make the powder ball up a little, so be sure to mix it until it is well blended & smooth. Add about 2 tablespoons lemon juice; fresh is best.
4. Add about 5 drops of eucalyptus oil.
5. Add about 5 drops of clove oil.

The paste should be thin but not runny. If it is too runny, add a little more sifted henna powder. If it is too thick, add a little more coffee, or plain water. Allow the mixture to settle & cool for about 2 hours before using. Note: This recipe does make a large amount of henna paste. If u plan on doing only a small amount of work, feel free to halve or quarter the measurements listed above. Any paste that is not used can be stored, tightly sealed, in the refrigerator for 2 weeks or in the freezer for 2 months.

When applying henna paste, there r a few options: toothpicks, squeeze bottles, or a cone. You can buy a cone if u like, but u can also make ur own out of a plastic freezer bag. You can cut the bag into a small square, fold it into a cone shape, & tape it. The other way to do it is to just cut off one of the bottom corners & hold it like a cone, as though u were applying icing to a cake.

The only thing left to do is decide on the design u r going to apply. Most henna kits include sample designs or stencils to work from. There r also a great collection of books out there that have example patterns for u to work with. You r also free to create or customize any design ur heart desires. Most traditional henna patterns r based on very simple shapes, which can be combined to create a very intricate pattern.

You have a few choices when it comes to the actual process of application. If u r confident in ur artistic skills, u can apply the henna paste freehand, or without a stencil. For intricate designs, even pros sometimes use stencils, which is a great thing to do if you've never used henna before. The most common way to apply henna is with the previously mentioned cone, which allows for precise application. If u feel more comfortable with a paintbrush, using a very small one will work as well.

After applying, the applicant must sit & wait for the henna paste to dry, which can take hours. Once it is dry though, the design will last for a few weeks, so the time spent waiting is worth it.
