What is it people have against tattoos

hi! i think there to scared to get it done lol! I've got a baby devil with a pair of boxing gloves on the top left of my back and i got it done because it reminds me of my man (a we devil) and hes got seven tattoos i think tattoos are wicked!

some people r just gay

i have 1 tattoo & am going to be getting plenty more.. the one i have right now is for my dad who has passed away & i will always love the tattoo (i also drew it myself) & want it there

most people i find r just to chicken to get a tattoo & they get jealous that we r not afraid.. if u get somethign u know u will want forever why should it matter right

also tattoos r fairly in these days & like others said before me.. older generations think of them as bikers & gangs.. but alot of times they do not mean this anymore. it is a way to express ourseleves & they need to just get over it

I love tattoos but i have a lot of peiople commenting how much they dont like them. I wouldnt comment how much i hate their new clothes or hairstyle?!
So i dont think many people hate tattooos i just think theyre jellous, hatefull people in genral.

I am a little older, but I do not mind tattoos a bit. Some r really interesting & well done. If I were to get a tattoo, I would try to draw any image myself, because some tattoos I've seen look a little wonky. I will never probably get any, because I was really turned off of any by the gruesome, but true stories, from my mother was a WAC in WWII, & she used to tell me stories about one of the Nazi wife of a concentration camp, Ilse Koch, who had prisoners put to death to get their tattoos made into items like lampshades. She had the poor souls paraded in front of her & she picked out the ones she liked.

From looking this up on the Internet, I found a site that also mentioned that Jewish people frown on having tattoos because they believe that anyone with a tattoo cannot be buried in consecrated ground. Since most Christianity varieties r based on Jewish traditions, maybe there is a similar belief for some of them.

My mom hates everything about them because of their history.she says that only sailors and bikers have them, and that ALL women with tattoos are trashy.

I think a tattoo should be someones personal choice. Someone i know has both forearms and upper arms tattoo and they represent what he likes and most of them are tribal or samurai related. I know that people think it is bad for buisness because most older people dislike it and someone even said that a lot of tattoos is just horrible and stupid. I also know tattoo artists and they are really nice people and fun to hang out with.

Unfortunately there is a bad stigma attached to tattoos mostly due to people being entirely too closeminded & old fashioned. Back in the day tattoos were very common among sailors that would dock somewhere, get drunk & get tattoos, steriotypically for they're woman, moms etc.then it moved to ''bikers carnival folk etc. Nowadays it is a lovely artform in which people chose to use they're bodies as a canvas instead of paper. Tattoos can be beautiful as long as they have the proper thought put into them & always a great artist. I have 13 myself & do not plan to stop anytime soon, my mom can call me a circus freak all she wants (there lies the ''oldfashionedness''), but They all have different meanings, symbolize different life experiences etc. My only advice to anyone getting tatted for the first time is make sure yout hink about it long & hard before deciding what u want, u will have this artwork with u for the rest of ur life.

i only have one but i love it!
i dont understand why people are so anti-tattoos either!

I think people are scared of individuallity and difference. Like the theory, if you dont look like me, walk like me..{belch} ya know where I am going.

I have two tats.and my Dad still freaks over them, mind you I am 33 years old. I placed them in an area that could be covered in the event of job interviews, Church..etc..etc..

I am slowly getting covered in tattoo's. Most of them have a story or meaning behind them, but some r just simple body art that I love. I will probably be doing this for years to come!

I think people bash tattoo is because its something they dont understand. They dont have the same mindset that we do so there for, they cant understand why we would purposely put ink into our bodies & go thru pain etc.

Its just something they dont know so they just say whatever enters their mind about it. Its irritating I know...

I have a few tattoos.Ever since I had them (my first was when I turned 30) I have had all sorts of comments off non-inked people thinking they have a right to comment on how they dislike them.
I love tattoos, & people have had them for thousands of years.
Being a cancer patient, I may not live to be a grand age with my tattoos.So there is little chance of me upsetting anyone with my wrinkly skin & tattoos.
I have this to say to u non-inked outspoken, rude people.And it is a well known saying in the tattooed world:The difference between a tattooed & a non-tattooed person is that the tattooed person wo not care if u have ink or not.And we r less likely to judge people by the way the look.

One woman made a comment about my ink last week when I went swimming.I used to chat to her, but after a rude comment from her, I will be avoiding her in future.She said I had lovely skin, but pity about the tattoos.I wish that I'd said something to her at the time.I will save it up though, & it will be the last thing I say to her.But I am going to suggest that she gets her horrible long grey hair cut as it makes her look like a witch.:o)

Most people with tattoos are rough & common (sorry!). I think they look awful on women. The ones I really hate are pictures of your children!

but i think its cuase so many people regret them & think you might too.

People do not like them cause they are too scared to go get one themselves, so they rag on people who have one to make themselves feel cool!

They look common (especially on women)and if you lined up women with tatoos on one side and women without on the other, 90%+ of the ones with tatoos would either be common (chavvy), on benefit, unmarried mothers, binge drinkers or smokers or more than likely all five.
Think about it ,it is true.

I have three at the mo and will probably have another (friend of mine is a tattooist). I currently have a dragon on my right arm, a celtic style rune on my left and a multicoloured cannabis leaf on my right shoulder blade.




I am not a Chav either but they do seem rather commonplace these days (that is Chavs and Tattoos).

I love them too. I am booked into get my first one in 2 weeks. its taken me this long to get one because of all the negative comments I got when I said I wanted one. Now I do not care, I have waited long enough, & do not care anymore what people think, I like them.
The only thing I do not like is when people get things that they might think looks good now, really bright & colourful & when they get older look stupid on a person.
I prefer black tattoos & if on a girl somewhere where u can hide them if u need to.

I believe it is just the way some people were brought up. Twenty years ago tattoos may have been considered common, crude or vulgar but now they are more fashionable.
Remember though if you are going to put permanent visible markings on your body, you will attract attention and judgement of others, good or bad.

You get tattoos because you like them...?? End of.?? I personally do not like them. Thats my taste. I just do not like the look and is a big turn off for me on women, its the same to compare likes of people with long hair vs short hair or clothes style. PERSONAL TASTE. If you like them thats all that matters....is not it?

They are absolutely disgusting, a man made scar, a terrible disfigurement and a throwback to the stone age.

Different strokes for different folks. I think a lot of people do not like them because they essentially are permanent. and people often regret getting them later in life. I have nothing against them, even though I have none.

I have never liked tattoos. I just think they are horrible, I do not undertsand the concept of having a permanant mark on one is body. I also think they are a bit common, yes. You can call me a snob but that is how I feel. It would be interesting to know where the revulsion for tattoos arose. But if you're happy with tattoos all over your body, good for you.

The attitude to tatoos has changed a lot in the past 10 years. At one time they were only worn by hard men who were likely to glass u after drinking 15 pints of larger. Now they r more a fashion statement & equally popular with men & women. I think a tatoo on a young healthy body looks great. But they r permanent. That means that the tatoo will still be there when the young healthy body turns to middle age spread. Those celtic armbands do not look half as good on saggy skin & bingo wings.

I think it is that they do not like the idea of it being permanent.
my mum says their ''dirty'' :P And they prefer the natural look.

A lot of older generations associate them with bike gangs and prison inmates. Some people think they just look trashy and a lot of people have the misconception that no successful people have tattoos. Some religious people think it is a desecration of the body..Some just do not like the appearance and are rude enough to think that everyone should abide by their opinions.

I like tattoos, I have a star on one foot and a butterfly on the other, both designed by myself. I think they are ok if they are nicely done.
As for placement, on a woman I absolutely hate to see women with tats on their arms. On men I think they look good anywhere (except the neck and head)

i do not really hate them, I just worry that it is difficult to change your mind about them afterwards, and when you get old and the skin changes they do not look very good.

I do not like when people get random, unrelated small tats all over. I am not a big fan of the ''tramp stamp.'' It is art, and should be treated as such, not just a fad, and should not be done on impulse. Your ink means something to you, and that is most important.

Im actually getting one tomorrow. I think ppl should do whatever makes them happy and not judge so much.

I think people just think it is a bad decision for like because if a girl or man gets it done in lets say a flame or a flower.. or name or something they are going to have it on their body when they are 80! It would just look gross.

i like tattoos, i just dont want one.

I have two tattoss and i love them different people have different opinions but for the ones who do not like them its up to them but other like them so shut up :-)
